The latest policy aims to attract investments to the tune of ₹50,000 crore and create one lakh new jobs.
Karnataka's Energy Minister K.J. George unveiled the Clean Mobility Policy 2025-2030 at Invest Karnataka 2025, targeting investments of ₹50,000 crore and creating one lakh jobs. The policy will also offer capital subsidies up to 25 per cent statewide, with Bengaluru regions eligible for 20 per cent support.
Building on its pioneering 2017 EV policy, Karnataka plans to expand its charging infrastructure by adding 2,600 stations to its existing network of 5,403 stations that currently serve 2,50,000 registered electric vehicles. The state will develop clean mobility clusters in Gauribidanur, Dharwad, and Harohalli, bringing manufacturers, suppliers, and research facilities together.
The initiative will also support fast-charging stations, battery-swapping facilities, and hydrogen fueling infrastructure. To address workforce needs, the policy emphasises collaboration with global institutions and expanding EV-focused training programs across technical institutes and universities.
At the same conference, TVS signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Karnataka to invest ₹2,000 crore in the state. This investment will see the Hosur-based manufacturer establish a new Global Capability Centre, much like Hero’s Centre for Innovation in Jaipur. It will be a major production hub for the company which will generate employment for over 3,500 people and produce 1.5 million vehicles annually.
This comprehensive approach will further help strengthen Karnataka's position in sustainable transportation while working toward reduced carbon emissions and improved air quality.
