Kawasaki has cut prices for its KLX230 and KLX230R S motorcycles after new GST rates came into effect. The KLX230 is now ₹16,000 cheaper, whilst the KLX230R S has dropped by ₹15,000 from its previous ex-showroom price.
Kawasaki produces both models in India, with nearly 95 per cent of components sourced locally. The company says the revised pricing offers strong value for off-road riding enthusiasts at this price point.
The price reductions follow the bike's move to the lower 18 per cent GST bracket from the previous 28 per cent rate. So, the standard KLX230 now costs ₹1.84 lakh (ex-showroom), and the track-only KLX230R S is priced at ₹1.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
Both bikes use the same 233 cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine producing 19.57 bhp at 8,000 rpm and 20.6 Nm at 6,000 rpm. Power is transmitted through a six-speed gearbox.
