The Carens facelift is expected to launch in India sometime in 2025, along with its electric sibling.
After being spotted on test in South Korea recently, the Kia Carens facelift has now been spotted testing in India for the first time. The facelifted Carens spotted in India was under heavy camouflage but some key visual highlights are visible.
Only the back of the Carens is visible in the spy shots. However, these spy shots do confirm that the test mule in India has similar design elements as the test mule that was spotted in South Korea earlier this month.
The taillamps of the Carens facelift seem to follow a similar design as the new Kia models such as the Seltos facelift and Sonet facelift. It can be seen with a C-shaped lighting element but the LED light bar is not visible. It could imply that the test mule is an entry- or mid-level variant that isn’t likely to get this feature. At the front, expect the Carens to get a slight makeover with its design similar to the Seltos and Sonet.
Inside, the Carens is expected to get a new cabin theme with the interior design not being changed drastically. It is expected to feature a 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 360-degree camera and more. It could also get ADAS like its stablemates from Kia, however, it's unconfirmed if it will be Level-1 or Level-2.
Under the hood, not much is expected to change with the facelift of the Carens. It is likely to continue with the same petrol, turbo-petrol and diesel engine options. Gearbox options will likely include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic. It is also getting an all-electric version that will come in 2025, around the same time the Carens facelift also arrives.
