The wired-to-wireless adapter will be offered as an accessory to new and existing customers.

Much like how Hyundai has started offering a wired-to-wireless adapter for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Kia India has also introduced the same for its cars that come with only wired smartphone connectivity. The adapter, launched at ₹4,344, will be compatible with all Kia India cars that don’t have wireless connectivity.

The cars to benefit from this new adapter include the Sonet, Seltos and Carens Clavis, as they do not have the wireless connectivity. Only the variants with the larger touchscreen (either 10.25-inch or 12.25-inch units) will require this adapter predominantly.

If you’re looking to purchase one for your Kia car, the brand says it will be available across all Kia India dealerships. However, there are multiple aftermarket options also available in the market, with prices starting around ₹2,000. The device plugs into the USB port of the car, and allows wireless connectivity via Bluetooth, interfacing with an existing infotainment system that supports wired CarPlay and/or Android Auto.

Customers have consistently complained about the absence of wireless smartphone integration capabilities. The complaint is mostly about the unnecessary charging the device has to go through, affecting the battery life of the smartphone. This adapter helps remove these woes the customers have.
