The Kia Seltos has been the primary driver of growth, moving more than 10,000 units per month since the latest version went on sale.
Kia India has recorded the highest monthly sales in its history, with wholesale dispatches climbing 14.5 per cent year-on-year to 29,112 units in March, up from 25,525 units in the same month a year ago, the automaker announced on Wednesday. The result caps what the Korean automaker is calling its strongest-ever quarterly outing, with January-to-March figures rising 11.6 per cent to 84,316 units against 75,576 units in the corresponding period last year.
The Seltos has been the primary engine of growth, moving more than 10,000 units per month since the latest version went on sale. The model carries the distinction of holding India's highest safety score among petrol and diesel vehicles under the Bharat NCAP testing programme.
"We delivered our best-ever March sales and strongest-ever quarterly performance, driven by sustained demand across our portfolio. The new Seltos, backed by its 5-star BNCAP rating, continues to lead momentum, while Sonet and Carens line-up remain steady volume drivers with continuous enhancements aligned to evolving customer needs," Atul Sood, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Kia India, said in a statement.
The Sonet compact SUV and the Carens MPV have also held their ground. The Sonet has widened its appeal through greater availability of automatic gearbox options across both petrol and diesel variants, with entry pricing for those versions now sitting below the ₹10 lakh mark. The Carens has maintained a steady following among buyers seeking multi-row family transport.
Kia said its retail footprint now spans 862 outlets across 390 cities, supplemented by 124 certified used-car locations. The company added that it intends to sustain the current trajectory through fresh product introductions and further geographical expansion.
