Kia India launches an updated EV ecosystem with K-Charge, offering 11,000+ charging points and an EV Route Planner. Also, over 250 EV-ready workshops will support the upcoming Carens Clavis EV.
Kia India is gearing up for the launch of its first made-in-India electric vehicle (EV), the Carens Clavis EV, on 15 July. Ahead of this, the company has introduced a comprehensive EV ecosystem to ensure seamless ownership for customers nationwide.
To address EV ownership challenges, Kia has developed the K-Charge feature, integrated into the MyKia app. This offers access to over 11,000 charging points across India, in partnership with 18 leading operators.
The network covers urban areas and highways, supporting both daily commutes and long-distance journeys. Kia plans to expand this to over 20,000 charging points by mid-2026.
The EV Route Planner, available on Kia’s website and MyKia app, simplifies charging by allowing users to locate stations, check real-time slot availability, and make payments directly. This eliminates reliance on multiple third-party apps, enhancing convenience for EV drivers.
Kia claims to have established over 250 EV-ready workshops across India which are equipped with specialised tools and trained technicians.
Additionally, more than 100 dealerships feature DC Fast Chargers (60kW to 240kW), enabling quick charging during visits. Furthermore, Kia’s home charging solutions with 7.4kW and 11kW AC chargers offer efficient at-home options.
Kia claims that its ecosystem integrates vehicles, digital tools, and a robust infrastructure to make EV ownership practical and reliable.
Kia India digitally unveiled the Carens Clavis EV recently. It has also been revealed that the vehicle will have a range of up to 490 km on a single charge.
Likely to challenge the BYD eMax 7, which retails between ₹26.90 lakh and ₹29.90 lakh (ex-showroom), the Carens Clavis EV will be Kia’s sole all-electric MPV in India, targeting families seeking sustainable mobility.
While not confirmed, the vehicle is expected to share powertrain specifications with the Hyundai Creta Electric, featuring two battery options: a 42 kWh pack and a larger 51.4 kWh pack, both paired with a single electric motor mounted on the front axle.
However, due to the Carens Clavis EV’s larger dimensions, its performance may slightly differ from its Hyundai cousin.
