Kia Showcases PV7 Electric Van: 23 Passenger and Cargo Versions, Size Options, Up to 460 km Range

Kia has debuted the PV7 electric van, based on its “Platform Beyond Vehicle” architecture on the E-GMP.S platform, at the ongoing IAA Transportation 2026 trade show in Hannover, Germany. A larger version of the PV5, the PV7 is designed to meet both passenger and cargo mobility needs for businesses. It is expected to launch first in South Korea and some unspecified European countries in the second half of 2027, with wider availability to follow as part of Kia's ambitious global expansion plans. No timeline for availability in India has been announced yet.

The Kia PV7 is intended for use on long routes, promising range, space, and versatility. Cargo and passenger versions will be available with up to 23 variants planned across different sizes, roof heights, battery capacities, and interior configurations, plus a wide variety of conversion options engineered by Kia or regional partners.

Longer and broader than the PV5, the upcoming PV7 will let Kia address new commercial opportunities including cargo, logistics, and shuttle operations. The flexible body system allows customers to adapt the vehicle to suit specific needs. Buyers will be able to deploy Kia’s Pleos Fleet online management system, letting them monitor and manage vehicles’ location, charge status, predictive diagnostics, maintenance, and even driver behaviour across entire fleets. Kia says it offers lower total cost of ownership and higher vehicle uptime to meet business operational needs.

With space for up to nine people (11 in Korea), passenger versions of the PV7 can be used for crew transport, shuttle and rental services, tourism, and even family use, among other things. In a 7-seat configuration, interior layouts can be customised and adjusted based on varying needs. There’s rear climate control, 100W USB Type-C charging ports, ambient lighting, and storage compartments for passenger comfort.

The PV7 Cargo will have two or three seats with a mobile workspace, and up to 6.1 m³ of cargo space with the Long variant or up to 8.0 m³ with the High Roof variant, which is enough to fit three standard Euro pallets (800 × 1,200 mm). It can carry up to 1,165 kg (or 1,200 kg for the Compact variant). Buyers can choose swinging double doors or a lift-up tailgate for the rear.

Kia will offer the PV7 with 71.5 kWh or 96.2 kWh nickel cobalt manganese (NCM) batteries. The electric powertrain can deliver up to 200 kW and 420 Nm of torque in a front-wheel-drive configuration, with all-wheel-drive variants to be offered in the future. Kia claims the Long Range Cargo variant can run for over 460 km under the WLTP test cycle. The PV7 is equipped with ADAS, along with roof-mounted passenger airbags and built-in cameras for safety.

The PV7 has been designed to allow for easy loading with a low 550mm floor and 270-degree full-open rear door. 800-volt electronics allow for charging from 10 to 80 percent in around 20-30 minutes. It will support vehicle-to-load power so external devices can run off the PV7’s battery, as well as vehicle-to-grid management allowing for power exchange and management, where possible. There’s a front AC/DC charging port and optionally also a  rear AC charging port for additional flexibility. 

In terms of driver and occupant comfort, the PV7 will run the Hyundai Motor Group's Pleos Connect software, based on Android Automotive OS, for a familiar in-vehicle infotainment experience. It will offer connected navigation, flexible screen layouts, and an open app marketplace. Over-the-air updates will keep features and security current. There’s also an AI voice assistant called Gleo for natural-language interaction.
