The sunroof was earlier available only with the 1-litre turbo engine variant
Kia India has announced that it will be offering an electric sunroof in the HTK+ variant of the Sonet with the 1.2-litre petrol engine. Earlier this feature was only available on the top end variant with the 1-litre turbo engine. The 1.2-litre petrol HTK+ with the electric sunroof now costs Rs. 9.76 lakh (ex-showroom India). With the electric sunroof the price of the HTK+ variant has gone up by Rs. 12,000.
Kia said that it was consumer demand that drove it to introduce the sunroof in this variant. Myung-sik Sohn, Chief Sales & Business Officer, Kia India, said, “With the addition of the electric sunroof to the Smartstream HTK+variant, we are pushing the boundaries of luxury and value, catering to the discerning needs of our customers.
The Sonet was launched in 2020 and in the 3 years has already sold 3.3 lakh units in the country. There is an update to the model coming soon and we’ll see addition of features as also a cosmetic change in terms of design. Kia India, however, has not yet confirmed this development.
