Kinetic Green has launched the Zulu for a price of ₹ 94,990. You can get this scooter for ₹ 69,000 if you opt for the subscription model. Along with this the company has also showcased their new logo which confers with the new brand identity. The deliveries of the scooter are expected to be started from January 2024.
One can buy the Kinetic Green Zulu on Amazon and Flipkart too. This new offering from Kinetic Green sit above the zoom and zing which are both 1.7 kWh battery e-scooter. It slots below the Kinetic Flex with a 3kWh battery. The ZULU introduces a "Battery as a Subscription" plan, revolutionising electric vehicle ownership. This model allows customers to subscribe to the battery on a "pay as you use" basis, reducing the initial scooter purchase cost by over 35%. The subscription plan integrates seamlessly with a mobile app, providing customers with unparalleled ease and simplicity throughout their ownership experience.
The Kinetic Green Zulu gets a 2.1 kW motor with regenerative braking. It has a battery of 2.27 kWh, allowing the e-scooter to go for 104 km in a single charge. Considering this is supposed to be an affordable and accessible e-scooter, the Zulu’s top speed of 60 kmph is quite reasonable.
The battery on this is IP67 rated which is also 100% made in India. The charging port is at the back and is equipped with an auto cut-off feature so that one can plug in the scooter for overnight charge.
Kinetic green announced new battery systems with ultra-fast charging capabilities, allowing it to reach up to 80% charge in just 30 minutes using a standard charger. Its compact design, coupled with a Smart Battery Management System (BMS) powered by Artificial Intelligence, ensures high performance. The active immersion cooling mechanism, operating at 2000 cycles, guarantees an extended lifespan and longevity, providing a remarkable mileage of 120,000 kms.
With Oil Cooling technology, the scooter ensures high levels of safety and efficient thermal management and this comes with additional price tag of ₹ 10,000. The range is same on both but the charging times will be significantly lower on the oil cooled battery. This get a warranty of 5 years which is 2 years more than the 3 year standard warranty. Kinetic feels the B2B business customers might prefer the oil-cooled ones because of longer life and faster charging times.
It runs on 10-inch tyres with disc brakes at both ends. While there is no ABS there is some amount of safety with a combi-braking system.
The Zulu Scooter has dimensions that perfectly balance compact design with functionality. With a wheelbase of 1360 mm, an overall length of 1830 mm, and a width of 715 mm. The 160 mm ground clearance is expected to give a smooth ride even on uneven terrains. Weighing in at 93 kg, the Zulu Scooter strikes the perfect balance between lightweight manoeuvrability and sturdy construction. This lightweight design doesn't compromise on payload capacity, with the ability to carry up to 150 kg effortlessly.
Although this is an e-scooter it claims to have underseat storage space to accommodate a half face helmet. It also gets a small boot light. At the front it gets lockable front storage that has compartments on either side. You get a hook above it to hang things.
The Kinetic Zulu comes equipped with a straightforward LCD display providing information on speed and basic details. It gets 6 colour options - Pixel White, Insta Orange, UTube Red, Black X, FB Blue, and Cloud Grey.
The launch of ZULU also marks Kinetic Green's commitment to environmental betterment, as the company plans to plant 1 crore trees across India to offset carbon emissions.
