This new facility will reserve the capacity to manufacture 60,000 batteries per year.

Kinetic Group has launched its first electric vehicle battery manufacturing facility in Ahmednagar, marking its entry into the growing EV battery sector. The ₹50 crore plant will produce Range-X branded batteries for electric two and three-wheelers, with an annual capacity of 60,000 battery packs. The facility will manufacture both Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) and Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) batteries.

The automated production line will feature “Internet of Things-enabled systems” and rigorous quality checks, meeting Indian automotive safety standards. The plant is geared to supply batteries beyond Kinetic's own vehicles, targeting India's EV market, which is projected to reach $18.319 billion in valuation by 2029.

The Range-X batteries will incorporate advanced thermal management and smart battery management systems. The LFP variants offer enhanced safety features and stable performance in extreme temperatures, while the NMC units provide higher energy density for extended range. The batteries manufactured here will be delivered to other OEMs, plus it will also develop prismatic cells for three-wheelers.

The facility's focus on environmental responsibility includes using recyclable materials and ethical sourcing practices, aligning with global sustainability standards while supporting India's electric mobility transition.
