KTM 390 Adventure Range Prices Hiked By ₹27,000

After absorbing the GST price hike for months, KTM has silently increased prices for the 390 Adventure range. With the revised GST price bracket, the KTM 390 ADV range fell under the new 40% tax bracket instead of the earlier 28%. To ensure that sales didn’t take a hit, Bajaj Auto decided to absorb the tax hike and maintained the ex-showroom price based on 28% GST. However, the company has now hiked the prices of the bike.

The KTM 390 Adventure X now retails for ₹3.26 lakh as opposed to the older price of ₹3.04 lakh, whereas the KTM 390 Adventure has witnessed a price hike of ₹27,000 as the flagship adventure tourer now is priced at ₹3.95 lakh. It will be interesting to see the impact of this price hike on the sale of the KTM 390 ADV family, which has been accepted warmly by Indian bikers. On the other hand of the spectrum, Bajaj Auto is also developing a new range of 350 cc engines for the Triumph family as it too falls under the 40% GST bracket. It seems KTM will not feature a smaller displacement engine for the 390 series and whether or not prices for the KTM 390 Duke and the KTM 390 Enduro will be revised too remains to be seen.

Both the KTM 390 ADV bikes were launched in India earlier this year and are a completely different bike from the Gen 1 offering. The styling of the bikes have been inspired from KTM rally bikes and the 399 cc, single-cylinder engine now delivers more power and torque. Also, the frame of the bike is all-new and on the KTM 390 Adventure you get tubeless spoke wheels and adjustable suspension. On the features front, the bike comes loaded with goodies such as cruise control bi-directional quickshifter, cornering ABS and Bluetooth connectivity.
