With Pierer Mobility’s takeover, MV Agusta is now on track to achieve net profit for the first time in many years.
Pierer Mobility AG, the parent company of KTM motorcycles, has completed its takeover of MV Agusta. The Italian firm’s outgoing CEO and now minority stake owner Timur Sardarov announced the Austrian company’s purchasing of the controlling stake.
As part of this takeover, the Austrian brand over five years will ‘revitalize’ MV Agusta by making it financially steady and also improve its manufacturing process and product line-up. The takeover also ensures the job security of several employees in Varese.
This takeover will also see Hubert Trunkenpolz, a member of the executive board of Pierer Mobility AG take over the role of CEO and Chairman of MV Agusta from Trimur Sardarov, who in turn will continue to be available as the company’s Vice-chairman, brand ambassador and consultant. “Our growth together is a testament to the transformative journey we've shared. My time with MV Agusta has been a pivotal chapter in my life, filled with mutual joys and challenges,” said Sardarov.
The takeover comes on the heels of MV Agusta’s revived credibility that saw the brand work on its reputation and reliability image among a growing global customer base. This focused approach was evident when MV Agusta launched five new models in 2023. This includes its first all-terrain luxury motorcycle, the LXP Orioli, the Brutale 1000 RR Assen, and Superveloce 98. Along with it the brand also launched the limited edition - Dragster RR SCS and the super exclusive Superveloce Arsham. These limited edition models were all sold out within hours of launch.
