The new system has the potential to brake the bike itself and even bring it to complete halt when the need arises

Automotive technology giants Bosch will be introducing its second generation of Advanced Rider Assistance System (ARAS) along with KTM on the upcoming Super Adventure model. KTM’s new mighty tourer is set to benefit from a larger V-twin motor as well as the first AMT option for the Austrian brand

The new ARAS system was developed at Bosch’ Shiobara Proving Ground in Japan. It will include several new functions like automatically stopping behind vehicles, additional braking to prevent accidents, ability to follow vehicles from a stop, and warn nearby road users. For these functionalities, it will include six new assist features - Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Group Ride Assist, Emergency Brake Assist, Riding Distance Assist, Rear Distance Warning, and Rear Collision Warning.

The new ARAS is expected to be available on other motorcycles in the future, potentially including manufacturers like Yamaha, Honda, and Ducati. Furthermore, Bosch will also aim to make this technology more affordable and widely available in the future. The company hopes that the second-gen ARAS are adopted beyond premium motorcycles which will help improve overall road safety.

As for the upcoming KTM Super Adventure, its prototype version has already been showcased. Early glimpses have already significant updates that has been meted to the bike. While muscular lines have been retained, the front has been completely redesigned, with prominent air intakes on the side.
