Lamborghini is set to debut the much-anticipated successor to the Huracán at the 2024 Monterey Car Week on August 16. This new model, carrying the code name 634, is expected to be officially named "Temerario," a Spanish word meaning "reckless." The launch of the Temerario will mark the completion of Lamborghini's transition to a fully hybrid lineup.
The Temerario will feature a state-of-the-art plug-in hybrid powertrain, confirmed by Lamborghini in May. It will be powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 engine, capable of producing 780 bhp. The engine boasts a flat-plane crankshaft, allowing it to rev up to an impressive 10,000 rpm, with torque rated at 733 Nm. While the total system output remains undisclosed, the hybrid system's integration promises to deliver a seamless and powerful driving experience akin to a racing engine. The powertrain includes three electric motors: one situated at the rear between the engine and the 8-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and two at the front, providing all-wheel drive capabilities.
The next-generation mid-engine supercar has been spotted testing on public roads multiple times, revealing a fresh design. The front end features distinctive slit-like headlights, and the LED daytime running lights are shaped in a hexagonal pattern. Large air intakes are positioned above the rear fenders, and overall, the Temerario appears more compact compared to its V12-powered sibling, the Revuelto. Inside, the cabin is expected to be fully digitised, offering a high-tech experience with numerous screens.
