Lava has launched its latest mid-range phone, the Agni 3 5G, in India. The Agni 3 5G's standout feature is its dual AMOLED display setup, instantly reminding you of the Mi 11 Ultra.
The primary screen is a 6.78-inch 1.5K 3D curved AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR support, and Widevine L1 certification. This display offers 1.07 billion colours and reaches a claimed peak brightness of 1200 nits. The secondary display is a 1.74-inch 2D AMOLED screen on the rear of the device, beside the camera module. It allows users to take selfies using the primary camera, answer calls, view notifications, and access various applications without flipping the phone.
Under the hood, the Agni 3 5G is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 7300X octa-core processor, built on a 4nm process. The device comes with 8GB of RAM and offers storage options of 128GB or 256 GB.
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP primary camera with a Sony IMX 766 sensor and optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 112-degree field of view, and an 8MP telephoto camera capable of 3X optical zoom and up to 30X digital zoom. For selfies, there's a 16MP front-facing camera with electronic image stabilization (EIS). Lava claims that these cameras are supported by advanced AI algorithms for enhanced night and portrait photography.
The Agni 3 5G runs on the latest Android 14 operating system, offering a clean, bloatware-free user experience. Lava has committed to providing three Android OS upgrades and four years of security updates, ensuring the device remains current and secure for years to come.
The Agni 3 5G features a 2900mm² copper-plated 9-layer vapor chamber that Lava claims will maintain optimal performance during intensive tasks without overheating.
The Agni 3 is powered by a 5000mAh battery supporting 66W fast charging, though it's worth noting that the base model does not include a charger in the box. Additional features include support for 14 5G bands, Wi-Fi 6e, Bluetooth 5.4, and NavIC support. The phone also boasts an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance.
The customizable Action Key is a unique addition to the Agni 3 5G, offering over 100 shortcut combinations through single, double, or long presses. This feature allows users to quickly access frequently used functions or applications.
The Lava Agni 3 5G will be available in two colour variants: Pristine Glass and Heather Glass. Sales begin exclusively through Amazon on October 9, 2024, with pre-bookings starting immediately. The device is priced, with the base 8GB+128GB model (without charger) available for ₹19,999 after a bank offer. The exact configuration with a charger is priced at ₹20,999, while the top-tier 8GB+256GB variant with charger is available for ₹22,999, both after applicable bank offers.
