The Yoga Slim 7x (L) and ThinkPad T14s (R) leverage Qualcomm's Snapdragon X SoCs with integrated NPUs for AI acceleration.
Lenovo was one of the companies that was announced as a launch partner for Microsoft’s Copilot+ AI PC branding initiative, and the company has now shared detailed specifications of its new Yoga Slim 7x and ThinkPad T14s (Gen 6) Copilot+ laptops. Both models will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite SoC, but with different target audiences – general consumers and corporate professionals respectively. In a press release, the company said this launch marks the beginning of the AI PC era; a “once-in-30-years” inflection point for the industry.
The Yoga Slim 7x will start at $1,199 (approximately Rs. 99,820 before taxes) while the ThinkPad T14s will cost $1,699 (approximately Rs. 1,41,445). Both will be available in the US starting in June, with no word on preorders or availability in international markets yet.
Targeted at content creators, Lenovo points out how AI-enhanced features such as text and image generation, photo and video and editing, and video call enhancement can be sped up using the Snapdragon X Elite SoC, thanks to its integrated Qualcomm Hexagon NPU. It is equipped with a 70Wh battery, and Lenovo claims “multi-day” battery life. It also has a 14.5-inch 2944 x 1840-pixel 90Hz 16:10 OLED touchscreen capable of 100 percent sRGB and P3 colour gamut reproduction and 1000nit peak brightness. There’s up to 32GB of soldered LPDDR5X-8448 RAM, and up to a 1TB PCIe Gen4 M.2 SSD which should be upgradeable.
This laptop weighs 1.28kg and measures 12.9mm in thickness. It will only be available in a Cosmic Blue finish. Other specifications include a full-HD webcam with infrared and a privacy shutter, three USB Type-C (40Gbps) ports, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.3.
On the other hand, the ThinkPad T14s is aimed at commercial customers, and Lenovo is focusing on work efficiency, the ability to run machine learning workloads, and the security and privacy aspects of on-device AI acceleration compared to using cloud services. In addition, the ThinkPad T14s will support enterprise-grade security and remote management solutions to protect against ransomware and make large-scale deployment easier.
This laptop has a 14-inch 16:10 screen, with options including a 1920x1200-pixel IPS LCD or 2880x1800-pixel OLED resolution, and touch support. There’s also up to 64GB of LPDDR5X-8533 RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The battery capacity is 58Wh. You get two USB Type-C (40Gbps) and two USB Type-A (5Gbps) ports along with an HDMI 2.1 video output. There’s also Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, a full-HD webcam with IR, and a fingerprint reader integrated into the power button.
