Lexus India has announced the introduction of its new 8th gen ES 350h hybrid executive sedan, priced starting at ₹66.10 lakh and going up to ₹71.80 lakh (ex-showroom). The self-charging hybrid electric ES 350h is positioned below its all-electric sibling, the ES 500e, which costs ₹89.99 lakh. Bookings for the new luxury sedan are now open across all Lexus dealerships in India.
The Lexus ES, or executive sedan, is one of the Japanese brand’s key models. The ES 350h will be assembled in India. It’s built on the same platform and with largely the same design and features as the ES 500e, offering buyers a choice between hybrid and all-electric powertrains. It comes with an 8 year / 2,00,000 km warranty, hybrid battery warranty, and assured buyback programme.
It will compete with the Toyota Camry, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, Tesla Model Y, Audi A4, and BMW 3 Series LWB in its price class.
The Lexus ES family is designed for comfort and calm for every occupant while traveling long distances, along with superior driving confidence and control. The ES 350h is longer, wider, and taller than its predecessor. The version sold in India has a unique 20mm increase in ground clearance for a better ride on all road conditions. It rides on 19-inch alloy wheels and has a slim sunroof.
It features distinctive twin L-shaped headlights with inward-facing LED DRLs paired with outward-facing turn indicators.
The Exquisite variant of the ES350h is available in four colours: White Nova, Sonic Titanium, Sonic Chrome, and Sonic Copper, while the Luxury variant comes in White Nova, Sonic Titanium and Sonic Copper as well as Graphite Black and a new “Sou” metallic blue option.
The cabin of the Lexus ES 350h is designed to offer quietness and space, for a comfortable, calming ride. The company promises expanded space for rear seat passengers thanks to the longer wheelbase, compared to the previous model.
An angular 12.3-inch “Tazuna” digital cockpit sits on the suede dashboard, along with a row of hidden haptic switches that are illuminated only when needed. There’s a 14-inch “new-gen” multimedia screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, along with a 17-speaker premium Mark Levinson surround sound system. A wide-angle electronic rear-view mirror promises improved visibility in harsh weather conditions. The ES 350h is also equipped with a NanoeX air purifier.
The Lexus Connected app for smartphones and smartwatches lets owners remotely locate their car, check the fuel level and driving range, and manage functions such as engine start, door locks, the windows and the sunroof, AC, and seat heating.
The Lexus ES 350h is powered by a new strong hybrid system with a 2.5 litre inline 4-cylinder engine with e-CVT transmission. The company says its hybrid system balances performance, fuel economy, and quietness.
The sedan comes with a suite of active safety features including an enhanced Pre-Collision System (PCS), All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), automatic high beams, and 3D surround view for the driver. The Luxury variants also has an in-cabin camera to detect driver fatigue, distraction, and drowsiness. The ES 350h is also equipped with eight airbags.
In a press statement, Hikaru Ikeuchi, President of Lexus India, said: “As we continue to strengthen our ES family, the All-New ES 350h will be manufactured in India, following the success of the previous generation, reaffirming our enduring commitment to the Indian market. The new model underscores Lexus’ multi-pathway approach to electrification and reinforces our dedication to advancing sustainable mobility in India.”
