Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Series Launched Starting at ₹19.45 lakh; Gets BaaS Option too

Mahindra has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio with the unveiling of the BE 6 Sporteq series. Serving as the new flagship umbrella within the BE 6 lineup, the Sporteq range introduces enhanced technology, a redesigned cabin architecture, and exclusive special editions including the Launch Edition and Formula E Freedom Edition.

Prices for the Sporteq range start at ₹19.45 lakh (ex-showroom). For the first time, the BE 6 is also available with Battery as a service (BaaS) on select variants.

Mahindra BE 6 Sporteq Features

The defining update of the BE 6 Sporteq series is the introduction of Mahindra's new software-defined vehicle architecture, which powers an advanced technology suite named Teq. This new system brings a variety of interactive features to the BE 6, including in-car karaoke, built-in in-car gaming, an NFC-based digital key for smartphone vehicle access, and custom tailgate messaging rendered directly through the LED rear light cluster.

To support these digital upgrades, the Sporteq lineup replaces the standard dual-screen dashboard with a continuous triple 12.3-inch screen setup spanning the front cabin, similar to the layout on the XEV 9e and XEV 9s. Mahindra has removed the prominent central partition that previously separated the driver and co-driver, creating a horizontal dashboard design with improved access to the wireless charging pad, USB Type-C ports, and added storage.

The interior is finished in a new black-and-tan color theme, accompanied by a panoramic glass roof, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, and Level 2 ADAS.

Formula E Freedom Edition Details

The Sporteq series also incorporates the BE 6 Formula E Freedom Edition, arriving less than a year after the original Formula E variant's release. Unlike its predecessor's bespoke bodywork, the Freedom Edition aligns closer to the standard BE 6's sleek exterior, utilising C-shaped front and rear DRLs alongside restyled bumpers.

Visual updates include 'Formula E' fender badging, a new Rosso Impulso paint option, and tri-colour body decals. Inside, the Freedom Edition retains the halo-like dashboard loop and dual 12.3-inch display configuration rather than adopting the triple-screen setup. It adds a Firestorm Orange interior layout, leatherette and suede upholstery, a dedicated 'Formula E Freedom Edition' plaque, and a 540-degree camera system providing 360-degree and underfloor views.

BE 6 Sporteq Powertrain Specifications

Mechanically, the entire BE 6 Sporteq lineup retains Mahindra's existing rear-wheel-drive electric powertrain options without changes.

Buyers can select between 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery packs paired with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor. The electric motor delivers up to 284 bhp and 380 Nm of peak torque, providing a maximum claimed MIDC driving range of up to 683 km on the 79 kWh battery pack. Charging performance and overall driving dynamics remain consistent with the standard BE 6 platform.
