Mahindra's domestic sales in July 2025 stood at 80,917 units, and exports at 2,774 units, taking the total number of units to 83,691 units. This represented a 24.6 per cent year-on-year (YoY) growth from July 2024's 64,929 domestic sales, and 6 per cent month-on-month (MoM) up from June 2025's 76,335 units. Its SUV portfolio drove the gains mainly, with strong-established models such as Scorpio and Thar taking turns leading growth, supported by freshly minted electric models making an impact.

Significant Gains in SUV/MPV Segment

In lower volumes, Bolero diesel posted 7,513 units, consistent with a 0.5 per cent MoM growth and an 8.4 per cent YoY growth. Marazzo diesel, which is a low-volume MPV, reported 176 units in July, a huge percentage increase over last year and last month, albeit from a very low base (14 units in July 2024 and 17 in June 2025).

Electric SUVs and Three-Wheelers: Early but Important

The BE 6 and the XEV 9e collectively had 4,008 units in July, basically unchanged from June's total of 4,011 units, impressive given a new launch that is only in its initial delivery phase.

Earlier, the company declared that both these EVs have surpassed the 30,000 sales milestone since deliveries commenced in March this year. Besides, the firm began deliveries for Pack 2 and launched a larger 79 kWh battery pack for lower variants, which was, until recently, reserved for top-spec Pack 3 variants.

In three-wheelers, Treo electric passenger car witnessed explosive growth to 7,613 units in July, increasing 577 per cent YoY and 18 per cent MoM, marking its acceptance in urban mobility markets. Conversely, the e-Alfa Mini dropped precipitously to 412 units, down 73.7 per cent YoY and 21.5 per cent MoM, suggesting weaker demand or competitive displacement.

Bottom Performers and Challenges Amongst the lowest-selling passenger cars, the Marazzo still has a niche even after its July surge, and some petrol models of Scorpio and XUV brands failed to recover the pre-pandemic pace.

For instance, Scorpio petrol volumes dipped 28.6 per cent YoY, while they did grow MoM by 11.1 per cent. Both XUV 3XO and XUV700 petrol models also posted a significant YoY decline.  Independence Day Unveilings Promise Future Momentum
