Mahindra BE6 and XEV 9e are both premium products priced at ₹18.9 lakh and ₹ 21.9 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively.

Mahindra has once again sold over 600 units of its Electric Origin SUVs on a single day. On the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya (19 April 2026), the homegrown carmaker handed over 610 units of its Electric Origin SUVs. This range includes BE 6, XEV 9E, and XEV 9S. This isn’t the first occasion when Mahindra has archived this feat.

Exactly a month ago, on 19 March 2026, Mahindra sold over 600 units of its Electric Origin SUVs on the occasion of Ugadi, the Hindu New Year. Like Ugadi, Akshaya Tritiya is also considered a very auspicious time to purchase new vehicles.

This milestone is ever more special for Mahindra since the company was able to sell more EVs on a single day than the monthly sales of brands like Hyundai and Kia. Hyundai, for example, sold just 476 electric vehicles in March this year, while Kia’s EV numbers during the same period stood at 458 units. Vinfast, on the other hand, sold 719 units of EVs in March this year.

The BE6 and XEV 9e were the first Electric Origin SUVs to go on sale in India. These were introduced in November 2024 and instantly became popular among EV buyers. A year later, Mahindra introduced the BE6 Formule E along with the XEV 9S — Mahindra’s first three-row electric SUV. During this year, Mahindra also introduced the Batman Edition of BE 6 in two batches of 999 units each— the first one in August last year and the second one in March this year.

Coming to sales, Mahindra has managed to sell over 30,000 units of the XEV 9e and BE6 in the first seven months of launch. This roughly translates to one of these e-SUVs getting sold every 10 minutes during the period. BE6 and XEV 9e are both premium products priced at ₹18.9 lakh, and ₹ 21.9 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively. Besides the Electric Origin range of EVs, Mahindra also offers the XUV400 and XUV 3XO EV as the other battery-powered options.
