Mahindra has released a teaser of a new concept vehicle, the Vision.T, ahead of its scheduled debut on August 15 in Mumbai. This concept SUV is believed to be the next stage in the development of the Thar.e, which was first showcased in 2023 as an electric iteration of the popular Thar.

While specific technical details about the Vision.T are yet to be revealed, the teaser image suggests a boxy and upright silhouette, closely echoing the Thar.e’s design direction. The Thar.e concept, which made its global premiere last year in South Africa, was Mahindra’s initial attempt at reimagining the Thar as a five-door electric SUV. The Vision.T now appears to build upon that design language, possibly moving closer to a production-ready iteration.
Mahindra has not confirmed whether the Vision.T will be a direct successor to the Thar.e or a standalone design exploration. However, its visual cues and the naming convention indicate that it is part of a broader design and product evolution within the company’s Born Electric strategy.

The Vision.T is one of at least five new concept vehicles that Mahindra is expected to showcase at its upcoming event on August 15, titled Freedom_NU. The event will take place in Mumbai and is positioned as a key platform for the company to outline its future product roadmap.
Mahindra has confirmed that the event will feature both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) models. Alongside the Vision.T, the company is also expected to unveil a new modular platform that will likely underpin a future range of Mahindra SUVs and EVs.

At the same event in 2023, Mahindra had globally revealed the Scorpio N-based pickup truck concept, which is slated to go on sale in 2026. That debut aligned with the company’s strategy to expand its presence in both the lifestyle SUV and light commercial vehicle segments.
