The new Mahindra Thar Earth Edition will be available with both petrol and diesel engine options.
Shortly after the launch of the Scorpio-N Z8 Select variant, Mahindra has now launched a new Earth Edition of the Mahindra Thar. Priced from ₹15.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the Mahindra Thar Earth Edition will be available in a range of four variants in the LX Hard Top 4x4 guise with both petrol and diesel engine options.
The Mahindra Thar Earth Edition with diesel powertrain paired with an AT gearbox commands the highest ex-showroom price at ₹17.60 lakh. While the petrol-AT variant is priced at ₹16.99 lakh, the diesel-MT variant of the new Mahindra Thar Earth Edition is priced at ₹16.15 lakh.
The exterior will sport a satin matte dune beige colour option called ‘Desert Fury’. Making the SUV look all the more visually appealing, is the new paint scheme option across the grille and ORVMs. In addition to this, the Mahindra Thar Earth Edition will also sport new alloy wheels and matte-black edges.
A similar treatment is also meted out to the cabin with the inclusion of a black-coloured base and light beige accents, which loosely mimic the ‘floating nature of sand’ described by Mahindra. Additionally, beige leatherette seats with dune designs on the headrests, ‘Desert Fury’ inserts on the AC vents, steering wheel, centre console accent and the Thar branding on doors are some of the highlights. Moreover, making the Thar Earth Edition all the more special will be the adjudication of a special numbered VIN plate starting with the serial number 1. Customers can also opt for accessories in the form of customised front and rear armrests, floor mats, and a comfort kit.
