The Thar’s Deep Forest Green colour is already available on the Scorpio N and XUV 3XO.
Mahindra has launched a new colour for the Thar called Deep Forest. It is a new shade of Green that is available on both AX (O) and LX trim levels of the rugged SUV. The new-for-Thar colour is already available on the Scorpio N and the newly launched XUV 3XO.

With this new colour, the Thar is now available in six colour options – Deep Forest, Red Rage, Deep Grey, Stealth Black, Everest White and Desert Fury. The latter is only available with the Earth Edition of the Thar. Interestingly, the Blazing Bronze colour option is not listed on the website, hinting that it may have been discontinued.
Apart from the new colour option, nothing has changed in the Thar. It continues to get the same 7-inch infotainment touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, manual AC, a 6-speaker system, cruise control and more. Safety features include two airbags, ESC, hill-hold assist, hill-descent control and three-point seatbelts for all seats, among others.

The Thar continues to get three engine options. The 117 bhp, 300Nm, 1.5-litre diesel engine is solely available with the rear-wheel drive configuration. On the other hand, the 130 bhp, 300 Nm, 2.2-litre diesel engine is only available with the four-wheel drive configuration. The 150 bhp, 320 Nm, 2.0-litre petrol engine comes with both rear-wheel and four-wheel drive configurations. While the 1.5-litre diesel engine is only available with the 6-speed manual, the other two engines get a choice of either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The Mahindra Thar competes with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Jimny and the newly launched Force Gurkha. The Thar is priced between ₹11.35-17.60 lakh, while the Jimny and Gurkha are priced between ₹12.74-14.79 lakh and ₹16.75-18 lakh, respectively. All prices ex-showroom, India.
