Mahindra Thar Roxx AX7L now gets Dolby Atmos 4-channel spatial audio, paired with a 9-speaker Harman Kardon system.
Mahindra & Mahindra has integrated Dolby Atmos 4-channel spatial audio into the Thar Roxx AX7L.
Developed in collaboration with Dolby Laboratories, this feature will supposedly transform the vehicle’s cabin into an immersive soundscape, delivering a concert-like experience.
The system, paired with a 9-speaker Harman Kardon setup, allows sound to flow dynamically around passengers, enhancing depth and realism for music, podcasts, and more.
The Thar Roxx AX7L’s audio system is complemented by built-in Gaana streaming, enabling access to Dolby Atmos-compatible tracks without external devices.
This functionality caters to audiophiles and adventure enthusiasts alike, ensuring a seamless entertainment experience whether navigating urban streets or off-road trails.
Karan Grover, Senior Director at Dolby Laboratories, described the collaboration as a step towards turning vehicle interiors into personalised entertainment hubs.
It must be noted that Dolby Atmos spatial audio system is exclusive to new Mahindra Thar Roxx AX7L units and cannot be retrofitted to existing units.
No changes have been made to the price of the Thar Roxx AX7L. It starts at ₹20.69 lakh for the petrol automatic 4x2, and ₹19.79 lakh for the diesel manual 4x2 options.
The Mahindra Thar Roxx AX7L offers both petrol and diesel variants. The petrol model is equipped with a 2.0-litre turbo engine, delivering 174 bhp, exclusively paired with a 6-speed automatic torque converter gearbox.
The diesel variant, powered by a 2.2-litre engine, provides flexibility with both 6-speed manual and automatic torque converter options. Additionally, the diesel is available in rear-wheel-drive and 4x4 configurations, enhancing its off-road versatility.
