The upcoming lineup will include all-new as well as updates of existing models, and builds on the 16 models promised by the SUV specialist in 2024.
Mahindra & Mahindra has announced that the company plans to introduce 16 new SUVs across segments over the next couple of years. The company announced its plans as part of the financial earnings press conference. Of these 16 new models, the brand will have 10 ICE (internal combustion engine) and six EVs (electric vehicles) joining the lineup. The upcoming lineup will include all-new as well as updates of existing models, and builds on the 16 models promised by the SUV specialist in 2024.
Between 2024 and 2026 so far, Mahindra has already launched five ICE SUVs - Mahindra XUV 3XO, Thar Roxx, Bolero and Bolero Neo facelifts, and XUV 7XO - and four EVs - BE 6, XEV 9e, XEV 9S, and XUV 3XO EV. The new product lineup builds on the same with nine new models now added to the forecast.

Mahindra’s new lineup will be largely underpinned by the new NU_IQ platform, which was revealed last year and spawned four concepts - Vision S, Vision T, Vision X, and Vision SXT. The new platform will support ICE and electric powertrain options, and the first models are set to rollout in 2027. The Vision series will also spawn electric derivatives, which will be a part of the six new launches planned by the automaker in the coming years.
Mahindra is preparing its Chakan facility in Maharashtra for the new NU_IQ platform, while the Nagpur plant will be a major production hub for the Vision models in the future. The upcoming manufacturing facility is set to become operational in CY2028.

We also reckon there will be updates and possibly special editions of its existing models added to the mix. This includes the Mahindra Scorpio-N facelift, which is expected to arrive later this year, while the automaker also has the Thar.e concept that could enter production in the future. Lastly, the Mahindra BE 07 concept could be one of the potential models making it to the assembly line.
Mahindra is also working on expanding the production capacity at its plants, and aims to increase installed capacity by an additional 17,500 units per month by the end of FY2027. The automaker’s current production capacity stands at 60,000 units per month for ICE vehicles. Meanwhile, the company is producing 6,000 EVs every month, and plans to expand to 8,000 units.
