Mahindra's XUV 3XO has retained its five-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP), with the certification now extended to its newly introduced ZNG (CNG) variants.

Notably, the XUV 3XO was first tested by Bharat NCAP in November 2024, when it secured 29.36 points out of 32 in adult occupant protection (AOP) and 43 points out of 49 in child occupant protection (COP).

These ratings covered all turbo-petrol and diesel variants of the SUV.

"Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG retains 5★ AOP & 5★ COP. Frontal ODB performance verified on CNG; side and pole results carried over from the 2024 test (same structure/safety systems). COP score revised 43→45/49 for vehicles from VIN MA1NS2NVPS2B98575. #BharatNCAP," Bharat NCAP posted from its X (Twitter) page.

The newly introduced XUV 3XO ZNG variants have recorded the same AOP score as their turbo-petrol and diesel counterparts.

However, the CNG versions achieved a higher score of 45 out of 49 in the child occupant protection assessment, compared with the 43 points awarded earlier.

The improved COP score is not limited to the ZNG variants. It will also apply to all XUV 3XO models manufactured from VIN MA1NS2NVPS2B98575 onwards.
