Though Mahindra’s Electric Origin SUVs have grabbed most of the attention in recent times, the company isn’t letting go of its internal combustion engine (ICE) models anytime soon. The homegrown carmaker has filed a new trademark for “XUV 7XO” which is most likely to be a facelifted XUV700.

The company adopted a similar strategy for the XUV300 which was later rebranded as the XUV 3XO in its facelifted avatar launched in early 2024. The XUV700 made its debut in 2021 and is yet to receive its first comprehensive set of updates. Test mules of the upcoming XUV7XO have been spotted on several occasions in the past few months.

Mahindra XUV 7XO: Exterior Updates

Like the XUV 3XO, the XUV 7XO is likely to gain significant updates over its predecessor both visually as well as functionally. Previous spy shots have suggested a revised front fascia featuring tweaked dual-pod projector LED headlamps and new daytime running lights. Another noticeable feature is a more upright multi-slat grille similar to the XUV 3XO.

Further, the updated SUV features a redesigned bumper with sharper air dams and a more robust skid plate. It is also expected to receive a new set of alloy wheels. At the rear, the design largely remains familiar, retaining the LED taillamps while incorporating a subtly refreshed bumper.

Mahindra XUV 7XO: Interior & Feature Updates

Previous spy shots have given a clear indication of revamped interiors inside the cabin. The facelifted XUV 7XO will introduce a new triple-display setup, similar to the one seen in the XEV 9e and the upcoming XEV 9s. The cabin is expected to retain its light-themed interior, featuring beige upholstery.

In addition to the updated triple-screen layout, the model is likely to gain several new features, including massaging front seats, rear ventilated seats for the 6-seater variants, an upgraded 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, multi-colour ambient lighting, and an extra wireless phone charger. Sliding middle-row seats are also anticipated to enhance practicality. The remaining equipment should carry over unchanged, such as wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, a powered driver’s seat with memory, and dual-zone climate control.

Safety features are expected to remain consistent as well. These include seven airbags (six offered as standard), electronic stability control (ESC), automatic headlamps, a 360-degree camera, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), ISOFIX child-seat mounts, an electronic parking brake, and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS).

Mahindra XUV 7XO: Powertrain Specs

The Mahindra XUV 7XO will continue with the same engine and transmission options: a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol unit and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel mill, both of them paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission.
