The latest order comes amidst rising cases of nuisance of stunt riding in the city.
To curb the nuisance of stunt riding, Mangalore City Police Commissioner, Sudheer Kumar Reddy has ordered police personnel to take strict action against riders. The commissioner has asked to seize bikes if found violating rules.
This is the latest measure in the city against atrocities that have been growing over the months. The authorities have found that most of these nuisances are committed by young riders, including several offenders from other states. Due to the latter situation, the Mangalore police cannot charge the offenders directly since the bikes are registered in those states.
Overcoming this small obstruction, the city authorities have decided to seize the bikes. By doing so, authorities will be able to clear all the fines before they take custody of the bikes. How effectively it implements that remains to be seen.
