The additional capacity is expected to come on stream by 2029, depending on market conditions, and will be financed entirely from internal resources.

Maruti Suzuki has given the go-ahead for the first phase of its new manufacturing facility in Gujarat, committing ₹10,189 crore to boost output as demand for its vehicles continues to climb. The carmaker's board sanctioned the addition of 250,000 units of annual production capacity at the Khoraj Industrial Estate, the same site for which it had previously secured land from the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation. The additional capacity is expected to come on stream by 2029, depending on market conditions and will be financed entirely from internal resources, the automaker disclosed in a regulatory filing.

Maruti Suzuki noted that its current manufacturing network, spanning plants at Gurugram, Manesar, Kharkhoda and Hansalpur, is running at full capacity, with a combined installed capability of roughly 2.6 million units a year.

Beyond production lines, the investment will also cover shared infrastructure designed to support further expansion at the Gujarat site, as India's largest carmaker looks to meet sustained growth in both domestic sales and export volumes.
