Maruti Suzuki CNG Launched In India At ₹8.19 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki India Limited has expanded its Swift lineup with the introduction of the S-CNG variant of the new Swift. Maruti Suzuki offers the Swift S-CNG in three variants- V, V(O), and Z, expanding from two variants in the previous model. Prices for the new Swift S-CNG start at ₹8.19 lakh for the VXi CNG, ₹8.46 lakh for the VXi (O) CNG, and ₹9.19 lakh for the ZXi CNG (all prices ex-showroom).

At the heart of the Swift CNG is a 1.2-litre petrol + CNG engine that develops 69 bhp @5700 rpm and 101.8 Nm @2900 rpm, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. As far as fuel efficiency goes, the Swift CNG returns 32.85 km/kg. For perspective, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG returns 27 km/kg. 

In addition to its efficiency, the Swift S-CNG receives standard safety features such as six airbags, Electronic Stability Program+ (ESP), and Hill Hold Assist are included across variants. The car also comes equipped with automatic climate control, a 7-inch Smart Play Pro infotainment system, wireless charging, rear AC vents, and Suzuki Connect. 

The Swift S-CNG is part of Maruti Suzuki’s broader effort to promote CNG vehicles in India. The automaker now offers 14 S-CNG-powered models, and its CNG sales have seen significant growth, registering a 46.8 per cent increase in FY 2022-23 compared to the previous year.
