The Dzire received 5 stars for adult and child occupant protection tests.
The Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the latest car to be tested by the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (BNCAP), scoring a perfect 5 stars in the crash test. BNCAP tested the base-spec - LXI 1.2L 5MT variant, but mentioned that the ratings apply to all variants of the Dzire. The Dzire received 5 stars for both adult and child occupant protection tests.

This is the first time a Maruti Suzuki model has been crash-tested by India’s premier crash testing authority. In the adult occupant protection tests, the Dzire scored 29.46 points out of 32, while in the child occupant protection tests, it secured 41.57 points out of a total of 49.

In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Dzire managed to secure 14.17 points out of 16. BNCAP noted ‘good’ protection for both the front passengers; however, the driver’s chest and left tibia got ‘marginal’ protection. In the side movable deformable barrier test, it scored 15.29 points out of 16. BNCAP noted ‘good’ protection for the head, stomach and pelvic regions, while the chest only got ‘adequate’ protection. In the side impact pole test, the Dzire received an 'OK' rating.

For the child occupant protection tests, the Maruti Suzuki Dzire got 41.57 points in the Dynamic and Child Restraint System (CRS) installation system, i.e., 23.57 out of 24 points and 12 out of 12 points, respectively. In the vehicle assessment test, the Dzire secured 6 points out of a total of 13. As always, BNCAP tested the Dzire with the dummies of 18-month-old and 3-year-old children.

The Dzire comes with a host of safety features. It has six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, roll-over protection, hill hold control, three-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats and ISOFIX child seat mounts, among others.
