Maruti Suzuki e Vitara locks horns with a long list of electric SUVs such as Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra BE 6, Tata Curvv EV, and MG ZS EV.
After a long wait, Maruti Suzuki officially launched the e Vitara yesterday. The carmaker announced only the starting price of the electric SUV, that too under the BaaS (Battery As A Service) model. The introductory price for the base variant of Maruti e Vitara is set at ₹10.99 lakh (ex-showroom, BaaS) while the battery will be offered on a separate per kilometre EMI of ₹3.99. Bookings for the car have opened at ₹21,000. Acko Drive has obtained the complete price list of the Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, including prices for the vehicle without the BaaS module, from dealer sources.

Maruti will offer the e Vitara in three trim levels — Delta, Zeta, and Alpha. Under the BaaS module, these variants are priced at ₹10.99 lakh, ₹11.99 lakh, and ₹14.99 lakh, respectively. Interestingly, the Delta variant is offered with the smaller battery pack that is accompanied by a battery rental scheme of ₹3.99 per km. Meanwhile, the Zeta and Alpha trims are equipped with a larger 61 kWh battery pack. Both these variants come with a battery rental scheme of ₹4.39 per km.
On the other hand, prices without the BaaS module start at ₹15.99 lakh for Delta, ₹17.49 lakh for Zeta, and ₹19.79 lakh for the Alpha trim. Prices under both modules include the cost of installation and the site survey for the 7.4 kWh complimentary home charging unit.
In comparison, the Hyundai Creta Electric is priced at ₹18.02 lakh whereas the Mahindra BE 6 is priced at ₹18.90 lakh (both ex-showroom). This makes the e Vitara significantly more affordable than its immediate rivals.

The smaller 49 kWh battery unit is paired with a 142 bhp electric motor and claims an ARAI-rated range of 440 km whereas the 61 kWh version is paired with a 172 bhp electric motor that promises a 543 km range on full charge. Both have the same torque output of 189 Nm and come with a front-wheel drive layout as standard. Maruti claims that charging from 10 to 80 percent with a 7.4 kW charger takes 6.5 hours for the 49 kWh variant and 9 hours for the 61 kWh battery pack. Using a fast DC charger with support for speeds of up to 70 kW, the same charge level can be achieved in approximately 45 minutes.
