Maruti Suzuki has ramped up its export operations for the e-Vitara, shipping over 7000 units of its first battery electric vehicle to international markets within August and September 2025. The made-in-India electric SUV has reached customers across 12 European countries, marking a significant milestone for the company's global expansion strategy.
The e-Vitara has not yet been launched in India, despite being showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 earlier this year. Maruti Suzuki plans to launch the vehicle in December 2025 in India.

The initial export shipments commenced from Pipavav Port in Gujarat, with over 2,900 units dispatched in August alone to the United Kingdom, Germany, Norway, France, Denmark, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Austria, and Belgium. September shipments added a further 3,168 units to the tally, and more subsequently in October.
The strong export demand reflects the e-Vitara's reception in overseas markets. Suzuki Motor Corporation has confirmed that the vehicle will ultimately be exported to over 100 countries worldwide, positioning the Hansalpur manufacturing facility in Gujarat as the global production hub for the model. The plant, which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 26 August 2025, features a multimodal automobile cargo terminal with direct connectivity to ports, enabling efficient large-scale shipments to international destinations.

The e-Vitara is built on Suzuki's HEARTECT-e platform and features a 3-in-1 electric powertrain system. The vehicle comes with two battery pack options: a 49 kWh variant producing 142 bhp and a 61 kWh option generating 172 BHP in front-wheel-drive configuration. The larger battery also offers an all-wheel-drive variant with dual motors, delivering 181 BHP and 300 Nm of torque. The SUV offers a claimed driving range of up to 500 kilometres on a full charge.
For the Indian market, the e-Vitara will feature Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, a 10.25-inch infotainment display, a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and a 360-degree camera. Safety equipment includes seven airbags and an electronic parking brake. The vehicle is expected to be positioned in the mid-size electric SUV segment, competing with models such as the Tata Curvv EV, Hyundai Creta Electric, and MG ZS EV.
