Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Kochi and Bengaluru are the top markets for the Fronx.
Maruti Suzuki has achieved another sales milestone as the Fronx has now crossed the 2 lakh sales milestone. This sales milestone comes a little over 17 months since its launch in April 2023. The subcompact SUV from Maruti Suzuki achieved its 1 lakh sales milestones 10 months in January this year, 10 months after it was launched.
The Indian auto giant said the Fronx has received massive traction from customers in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities with Delhi & NCR, Mumbai, Kochi and Bengaluru being the top markets. Additionally, the turbo-petrol variants have also seen a significant surge in demand.
The Fronx is Maruti Suzuki’s second competitor in the subcompact SUV space, with the other one being the Brezza. Unlike the Brezza, the Fronx gets two engines – a 1.2-litre petrol and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol – as well as a CNG kit with the latter. Both get a 5-speed manual gearbox and while the petrol gets a 5-speed AMT, the turbo-petrol gets a 6-speed automatic.
Maruti’s second subcompact SUV comes with features like a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, a head-up display, a 360-degree camera, connected car tech, and more. Safety features include 6 airbags, ISOFIX, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist and 3-point seatbelts with reminders for all seats. However, there are no crash test ratings for the Fronx yet.
Commenting on the success of the Fronx, Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, said, “The remarkable success of the Fronx reflects Maruti Suzuki’s understanding of evolving customer expectations and our efforts to deliver products that exceed them. With a notable 16 per cent Year-on-Year (YoY) growth in the financial year (FY25), this compact SUV has captured the attention of first-time buyers while becoming the preferred choice for those upgrading within the segment."
