Maruti Suzuki’s Invicto MPV has received a 5 star rating in the latest Bharat NCAP assessments, underlining its commitment to occupant protection. Tested in July 2025, the Invicto Alpha 7STR variant achieved 30.43 out of 32 points in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category and 45 out of 49 points in the Child Occupant Protection (COP) evaluation, securing a five-star rating.
In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Invicto recorded 14.43/16, delivering solid protection across most body regions, with the driver’s and passenger’s chest rated “good” and the knee areas deemed “adequate.” A flawless 16/16 in the side movable deformable barrier test demonstrated robust side-impact safety. For child dummies, the Invicto scored 24/24 in dynamic tests, 12/12 for child restraint installation, and 9/13 in vehicle assessment simulations.

By comparison, the Toyota Innova Hycross, the first MPV from Toyota tested under Bharat NCAP protocols in April 2025, also claimed a five-star rating, with 30.47 out of 32 for AOP and 45 out of 49 for COP. Its frontal offset score stood at 14.47/16, accompanied by a full 16/16 in side impacts. Child protection mirrored the Invicto’s performance, with top marks in dynamic and installation trials, though the Hycross achieved 9/13 in the assessment phase, matching the Invicto.
Both MPVs come equipped with advanced passive and active safety features. The Invicto offers dual front airbags, side-head curtain airbags, seat-belt pre-tensioners, and Electronic Stability Control (ESC) as standard. Similarly, the Innova Hycross boasts six airbags, ISOFIX mounts, hill-start assist, and Toyota Safety Sense driver aids on higher trims.
These results highlight a turning point in Indian auto safety standards, as mainstream MPVs deliver world-class crash performance.
