Bain Capital-backed Dhoot Transmission partners with FourFront to merge and expand the automotive electronics platform, targeting EV and advanced systems growth with OEM support.
Dhoot Transmission Limited, an Indian manufacturer of electrical and electronic components backed by Bain Capital, has announced a strategic partnership with Pune-based FourFront Limited. Under the agreement, FourFront will merge with one of Dhoot Transmission’s subsidiaries, integrating into the company’s automotive electronics and electrical platform.
The combination brings complementary strengths, including FourFront’s expertise in electromechanical switches, power electronics, and EV components, alongside Dhoot’s established manufacturing scale and customer relationships. This move supports growing demand for advanced electronics and electrification in passenger and commercial vehicles.
FourFront, a trusted Tier-1 supplier to major OEMs in India, is well-positioned to capitalise on the shift towards electric vehicles and complex vehicle architectures. The partnership enables continued service to existing clients while accelerating growth through expanded capabilities and shared resources.
Bain Capital will provide ongoing support, leveraging its global automotive experience to help scale the platform, deepen OEM partnerships, broaden product offerings, and improve operational performance.
Rahul Dhoot, Managing Director of Dhoot Transmission Group, stated that the partnership aligns with the strategy to develop a differentiated platform in automotive electronics and electrical systems. FourFront’s strong OEM relationships and power electronics expertise will benefit from Dhoot’s scale and long-term investment focus.
Saahil Bhatia, Partner at Bain Capital, noted India’s strong growth potential driven by demographics, consumption, and manufacturing investments. He emphasised the opportunity to build high-quality solutions aligned with trends like ADAS and increasing electronics content.
Shrikant Neurgaonkar, Chairperson and Managing Director of FourFront, highlighted the company’s foundation in innovative solutions and customer responsiveness. The collaboration with Dhoot and Bain Capital will enhance product development, manufacturing, R&D, and talent investment for future expansion.
The partnership is expected to deliver broader offerings, stronger customer engagement, and efficiencies through integrated manufacturing and supply chains, reinforcing presence across PV and CV segments.
