Maruti Suzuki Claims that the fuel efficiency figure is best in class.
Maruti Suzuki has revealed the fuel efficiency figures for the CNG with AMT variants of the Dzire, Swift and Baleno. The company has said that it has managed ‘Best in Segment mileage for all these cars with the CNG and AMT combination. It announced a mileage of 36.47 km/kg for the Dzire, 35.34 km/kg for the Swift and 34.47 km/kg for the Baleno.
The claimed numbers run ahead of the mileage figures the company has already published for these models' CNG variants with the manual transmission. The Dzire's CNG version is ARAI-rated at 33.73 km/kg, the Swift at 32.85 km/kg and the Baleno at 33.61 km/kg, all with a five-speed manual gearbox — the only transmission offered with CNG on the Dzire and Swift till now.

Rival Tata Motors had already introduced CNG with an automated manual transmission (AMT) on the Tiago and Tigor, positioning the combination as a segment first. But now Maruti Suzuki has got into the segment as well.
The push towards higher-mileage, automatic-transmission CNG cars reflects a broader shift in India's compact-car market, where running costs remain the primary purchase driver but buyers increasingly expect the convenience of an automatic gearbox in city traffic. Maruti Suzuki holds the largest share of India's factory-fitted CNG passenger vehicle segment, spanning models from the Alto K10 to the Ertiga, and has faced growing competition from Tata Motors' CNG-AMT offerings.
