McLaren Reveals Project Viva by MSO: One-of-One 750S Spider With Hidden Las Vegas Details

McLaren Automotive has revealed Project Viva, a one-of-one 750S Spider created by McLaren Special Operations. The car was unveiled ahead of the Las Vegas Grand Prix in November 2025.

The commission represents the outcome of McLaren's bespoke division transforming creative inspiration into design through hand-painted craftsmanship. The vehicle was displayed at the McLaren Experience Centre within the Wynn Las Vegas Hotel from 13–20 November.

Project Viva draws inspiration from Las Vegas through monochrome paintwork and hand-crafted artistry. The design translates the rhythm, architecture and atmosphere of the city through hand-painted line-work rather than using colour and neon glow. The 'Sketch in Motion' livery captures movement and character of the city, including references to iconic signage and skyline landmarks.

McLaren Formula 1 Team drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri contributed hand-applied details to the design. They added the team's tenth Constructors' World Championship star to the rear bumper in recognition of McLaren Racing's recent championship win. The pair also added signature lines and sketches to the bodywork and interior sills.

The car features two MSO paint colours. Vegas Nights is a new colour developed exclusively for this commission. The shade has a deep black finish infused with subtle flecks of cyan, magenta and green. The colour captures the neon glow of Las Vegas after dark. Muriwai White appears on the shutters and doors within the Muriwai Trophy motif.

The design contains numerous hidden details throughout the bodywork. Dice on the lower left-hand side and top of the rear deck represent the founding year of Las Vegas in 1905 and McLaren in 1963. Ten silhouettes of McLaren Racing championship-winning cars are mapped onto racetracks across the vehicle.

The Muriwai Trophy is located on the front right arch with the number 58, Bruce McLaren's race number for the Muriwai Hill Climb in New Zealand. A heart motif on the front right bumper contains a reference to Bruce McLaren's 1970 racing helmet. The Speedy Kiwi emblem, McLaren's original motif, appears on the left-hand side.

Additional details include neon arrows on the bodywork as a tribute to the city's hand-built neon signs. The front bonnet features a graphic that reimagines Las Vegas' iconic welcome sign, replacing the original lettering with 'MSO'. Playing card motifs on the rear panel form the 750S lettering.

References to Las Vegas landmarks are integrated throughout the design. The rear right-hand side features flowing wavy linework representing Nevada's surrounding terrain. A discreet outline of Nevada state is hidden within the cityscape graphic on the right-hand side. Subtle angular detailing echoes the geometric architecture of Las Vegas landmarks. Water-like forms flowing into the front bumper intake represent the fountains found on the Las Vegas Strip. Stars inspired by the American flag appear on the right-hand side. A cartoon-style cactus motif on the right-hand side represents Nevada's desert.

Music notes are scattered across the rear deck and along the lower left-hand side, representing the city's musical culture. A chapel line-work hidden within a spade motif on the front right bumper pays homage to the city's wedding chapels. Commemorative tokens feature across the bodywork, with one marking 120 years of Las Vegas from 1905 to 2025.
