Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe Launched In India At ₹1.35 Crore

The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe has launched in India at ₹1.35 crore (ex-showroom, India). It is the coupe version, and a more hardcore version, of the Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet, which was launched in India exactly a year ago. 

The AMG CLE 53 is offered with a 3.0-litre twin-turbo inline-six engine churning out 442 bhp and 560 Nm. It can achieve 0-100 kmph in 4.2 seconds and has a top speed of 270 kmph (both claimed). Power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. It also comes with an AMG Performance exhaust system, AMG Ride Control suspension, AMG Dynamics Plus Package (which also includes Drift mode) and rear axle steering. 

It looks more hardcore, naturally, than the CLE Cabriolet as it is the full-fledged AMG version. It measures 4941 mm in length, with a wheelbase of 2875 mm. Both are 91 mm and 10 mm longer, respectively. It’s also taller than the cabriolet by 12 mm. 

Inside, the AMG CLE 53 comes with a vertical 11.9-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 12.3-inch virtual cluster, AMG performance steering wheels and pedals, and carbon fibre weave on the dashboard. It also gets a 17-speaker Burmester audio system with Dolby Atmos, head-up display, AMG Track Pace, AMG Dynamic Select, 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats,  puddle lamps, a panoramic sunroof, foldable rear seats, dual-zone climate control and more. 

Safety features on the AMG CLE include 8 airbags, ADAS with active brake assist, park assist, blind spot assist, and high-beam assist. The AMG CLE is available in eight exterior colours – Sun Yellow, Obsidian Black, Spectral Blue, Manufaktur Patagonia Red Metallic, Manufaktur Alpine Grey, Manufaktur Opalite White, Manufaktur Graphite Grey Magno and Manufaktur Spectral Blue Magno. The Magno options are available as an optional extra. The cabin only gets a black and red theme. 

The Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4Matic+ Coupe rivals the likes of the BMW M4 and BMW M2.
