Mercedes-Benz has confirmed that the CLA electric will debut in India in April 2026. The company will announce the launch date later. This will be one of the brand's most important launches for the Indian market this year.
The CLA electric will be positioned as an entry point for Mercedes-Benz's next-generation electric vehicle range. The car is based on the MMA platform, which is a dedicated EV platform. It will compete with other electric sedans in the premium segment.
The vehicle is expected to cost between ₹50 lakh and ₹65 lakh. The CLA electric has a range of up to 750 kilometres according to WLTP standards. Some sources mention that the car can travel up to 866 kilometres on the CLTC cycle. The car will be powered by a rear-mounted electric motor. The motor will produce between 200 bhp and 300 bhp.

The CLA electric can gain up to 323 kilometres of range in ten minutes when using compatible DC fast chargers. The car has a two-speed automatic transmission. This transmission helps balance speed at low and high speeds.
The car will have an interior designed with the new MBUX Superscreen. This screen integrates the digital display, entertainment system, and additional displays into one curved glass panel. The cabin will use recycled and sustainable materials. The car will come with soft-touch finishes and minimal buttons.
The CLA electric will have safety features under the MB.Drive branding. The car will come with adaptive cruise control, lane assist, and emergency braking systems. It will have a 360-degree camera and parking assistance. Some variants may have semi-autonomous driving functions.

The car will have connectivity features powered by the MB.OS system. This system will have voice commands and software updates over the air. The system will support Google integration for navigation and voice assistance. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be available.
Mercedes-Benz also plans to roll out a charging network called MB.Charge Public. This network will give customers access to over 9,000 fast DC charging points across India through a single application. The network will be available when the CLA electric launches.
