Mercedes-Benz India has witnessed its strongest-ever September sales figures, registering a substantial 36 per cent increase compared to September 2024. The unprecedented monthly performance was significantly influenced by the latest GST 2.0 reforms, which revived customer sentiment and led to accelerated purchasing decisions that had been deferred since mid-August. The impact of GST 2.0 rejig resulted during Navratri festivities, with 2,500 units sold during the nine-day celebration period, setting a new record for Mercedes-Benz's Navratri sales in the Indian market, says a report by NDTV Auto.
Data says Mercedes-Benz achieved over 2,500 vehicle retail sales during the nine-day auspicious festive window, marking an all-time high for the brand in India. The second quarter of FY 25-26 concluded with record-breaking sales of 5,119 units. For the first half of FY 25-26 (April-September), total sales reached 9,357 units, representing a 4 per cent year-over-year advancement.
September 2025's exceptional results propelled Mercedes-Benz to its most successful second quarter ever in FY 25-26, with 5,119 units delivered to customers. The quarterly momentum benefited from expansion in the premium battery electric vehicle (BEV) lineup, which sustained an 8 per cent share of Mercedes-Benz India's total sales volume.
The "top-end" luxury category sustained strong customer interest throughout Q2 FY 25-26, achieving 25 per cent market penetration and 12 per cent annual growth. Premium offerings including the GLS, S-Class, Mercedes-Maybach, and AMG G63 maintained their popularity among discerning buyers, with increasing preferences for hyper-personalisation and customisation features. The brand's exclusive 'manufaktur' programme, delivering personalised high-quality equipment, distinctive appointments, and superior craftsmanship, represented 75 per cent of all top-tier luxury vehicles delivered in India. The AMG G 63 achieved its highest-ever monthly sales performance despite maintaining a waiting list exceeding 6 months.
Mercedes-Benz's 'Core' category posted 10 per cent growth in Q2 FY 25-26, with September 2025 marking best-ever monthly sales for the Long Wheelbase E-Class, GLC, and GLE SUVs. The 'Core Segment' maintained its critical role with 60 per cent penetration in Mercedes-Benz India's aggregate sales performance. The Long Wheelbase E-Class's dominance in India remains uncontested, securing its position as the country's highest-selling luxury automobile with 47 per cent year-over-year growth for the luxury sedan during the Q2 FY 25-26 timeframe.
Mercedes-Benz's "Entry Luxury" range, featuring the A-Class sedan and GLA SUV, continues delivering strong product value within their respective categories, providing compelling propositions for luxury automobile customers. During Q2 FY 25-26, the 'Entry Luxury Segment' experienced contraction in a segment heavily influenced by lower-priced competitive offerings with promotional market incentives.
Mercedes-Benz advanced its BEV expansion in India, achieving 8 per cent penetration of overall sales. The BEV collection grew 10 per cent, with the EQS SUV recording its highest-ever sales figures. The premium G 580 Edition 1 with EQ Technology has exhausted its annual allocation, with reservations now accepted for the subsequent delivery window.
