MG Hector Tomahawk PHEV and EV Launched Starting at ₹19.49 Lakh

JSW MG Motor India has officially launched the Hector Tomahawk range, introducing both the fully electric Hector Tomahawk EV and the Hector Tomahawk Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).

Built on the ADAPT platform, this dual-powertrain lineup is designed to cater to diverse driving needs across India. The deliveries for the PHEV version are scheduled to commence from November, while the EV's deliveries will start from September.

The Tomahawk EV will rival SUVs like the Mahindra XEV 9S, Tata Harrier EV, and even the Kia Carens Clavis EV. The PHEV version, on the other hand, lives in a segment of its own since there are no other PHEVs in this price range. 

MG Hector Tomahawk Price in India

Under MG's Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) ownership programme, the starting ex-showroom price for the Hector Tomahawk EV drops to ₹13.99 Lakh, alongside a battery rental tariff of ₹4.9 per kilometre. All listed prices represent special introductory figures applicable to limited initial units.

MG Hector Tomahawk Design

The Hector Tomahawk range displays an upright, boxy SUV stance defined by crisp character lines, a commanding front fascia, and aerodynamically styled alloy wheels. The fully electric variant features a closed front profile integrated with a wide horizontal LED light bar and an illuminated MG badge.

In contrast, the PHEV version features a parametric studded front grille designed to optimise airflow for engine cooling, paired with rugged lower bumper garnishes, a floating contrast roof effect, and best-in-segment interior space.

The SUV measures 4,745 mm in length, 2,130 mm in total width (including mirrors), and 1,770 mm in height. Additionally, its generous 2,810 mm wheelbase enables best-in-class cabin space, while a 230 mm battery ground clearance should absorb potholes pretty well.

MG Hector Tomahawk Features

Technology forms the centrepiece of the MG Hector Tomahawk, creating an intuitive and seamlessly connected driving environment. At its heart is the upgraded i-SMART 3.0 connected car platform with over 80 features, introducing segment-first i-SWIPE technology that responds to two-, three-, and five-finger gesture controls for convenient operational access. To cater specifically to Indian users, the SUV debuts an integrated Gen AI voice assistant capable of fluid, natural conversations and over 30 Hinglish voice commands.

The cabin features a class-leading 15.6-inch HD touchscreen infotainment display supporting wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air software updates, and a Digital Bluetooth Key with sharing functionality. Aligning with MG's human-centric design philosophy, the vehicle incorporates six specialised lifestyle modes: Nap Mode, Pro Pet Mode, Camp Mode, Quiet Mode, Energise Mode, and Smoking Mode, allowing occupants to adapt cabin settings for distinct moments on the road.

Onboard entertainment receives a major boost with the segment-first Starmaanch Karaoke app, offering over 8,000 songs across Bollywood classics, regional tracks, international hits, and children's content with sing-along and recording options. Meanwhile, the MG App Store integrates more than 18 Jio-enabled services covering quick commerce, gaming, shopping, and social media platforms. This is rounded off by a GenAI-powered voice interface linked with JioSaavn and Jio VR for customised audio streaming, along with ETV Bharat for regional digital news and video access.

The all-electric model also introduces Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) bidirectional charging capability, allowing the SUV battery to supply power back to a residential home during outages. Primary active safety is managed through Electronic Stability Program, Traction Control System, Hill Hold Control, ABS with EBD, and an Electric Parking Brake with Auto Hold.

Driver assistance is driven by Level 2 ADAS suite comprising multiple intelligent functions integrated directly into the driving experience. These functions include adaptive cruise control, bend cruise assistance, traffic jam assist, lane keep assist, front collision warning, and more.

MG Hector Tomahawk Powertrains

Powering the Hector Tomahawk EV is a 69.2 kWh MAGIC battery pack that delivers a driving range of up to 517 km on a full charge, making it ideal for both daily city driving and long intercity journeys. For drivers seeking extended highway capability without range anxiety, the PHEV model provides over 115 km of pure electric range, enabling zero-emission urban commutes before the hybrid setup kicks in.

The Hector Tomahawk EV is driven by an electric motor generating a maximum power output of 201 bhp and a peak torque of 310 Nm, delivering immediate acceleration and refined high-speed cruising capability. It supports DC fast charging of up to 90 kW as well.
