The new MG Majestor replaces the MG Gloster in the automaker’s lineup, and is all set to challenge the dominance of the Toyota Fortuner in the segment.
JSW MG Motor India has unveiled the new Majestor three-row SUV, nearly a year after showcasing the model at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, last January. The new MG Majestor replaces the Gloster SUV in the automaker’s lineup, and is all set to challenge the dominance of the Toyota Fortuner in the segment. Apart from the Fortuner, the new Majestor will compete with the Skoda Kodiaq and Volkswagen Tayron R-Line in the same space.
The MG Majestor measures over five metres long, making it one of the biggest SUVs to go on sale. The model sports vertically stacked LED headlamps, while the LED DRLs are integrated into the grille and bonnet. The upright nose looks imposing with the massive grille, while the chunky bumper adds to the muscular flare. The profile gets pronounced wheel arches to accommodate the large wheels. The profile retains the boxy proportions, while the rear gets connected lights, along with twin exhaust tips.
The cabin gets all the bells and whistles, along with the three-row practicality on the new MG Majestor. The SUV is equipped with a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a digital driver’s display, three-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and more. It gets a 2+3+2 seating configuration.
Powering the new MG Majestor is the 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine tuned for 213 bhp and 478 Nm of peak torque, paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Power will go to all four wheels via the 4x4 system offered as standard on the SUV. This is the same unit that currently powers the higher variants of the Gloster. The lower spec single turbo diesel has been discontinued.
JSW MG Motor India will announce price of the car in April. But expect the Toyota Fortuner rival to be priced between ₹40-45 lakh. Notably, the outgoing MG Gloster is priced between ₹38.33 lakh and ₹43.16 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). More details on the launch timeline will be available soon.
