JSW MG Motor India is offering price reductions of up to ₹3,04,000 following government tax changes
JSW MG Motor India has announced it will transfer the entire benefit of recent GST reductions directly to customers purchasing its internal combustion engine SUV range. The price cuts, which took effect from 7th September 2025, apply across MG's complete SUV lineup including the Astor, Hector, and Gloster models. Customers can save up to ₹3,04,000 depending on their chosen variant.
Models | Current GST | New GST | Full GST Benefits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Astor | 45% | 40% | ₹54,000 |
| Hector | 45% (Petrol)/ 45% (Diesel) | 40% | ₹1,49,000 |
| Gloster | 50% | 40% | ₹3,04,000 |
The move follows the government's decision to reduce GST rates on certain vehicle categories, with MG Motor choosing to pass on 100% of these tax savings rather than retaining any portion for increased margins.
Vinay Raina, Chief Commercial Officer at JSW MG Motor India, said, “The government’s decision to rationalise GST is a good move that directly addresses the affordability challenge for car buyers and builds positive consumer sentiment. By extending the full benefit of this reform across our SUV portfolio, we want to ensure customers experience the immediate value of this change."
Under the revised pricing structure, GST plus cess rates have decreased across different models. The Astor now attracts 40% GST compared to the previous 45%, whilst Hector petrol variants also benefit from the same reduction. Hector diesel models have seen GST drop from 50% to 40%, and the Gloster enjoys the same 10 percentage point decrease. Specific savings vary by model, with Astor customers benefiting by up to ₹54,000.
