JSW MG Motor India has revealed the ex-showroom prices of the Windsor EV, which start at ₹13.50 lakh. This price includes the entire cost of the Windsor EV, including the car and the battery. Earlier, the brand had only announced the price of the Windsor EV with the battery being offered as a rental, which started at ₹9.99 lakh.
MG Windsor EV Variants | Price (ex-showroom, India) |
Excite | ₹13.50 lakh |
Exclusive | ₹14.50 lakh |
Essence | ₹15.50 lakh |
As mentioned earlier, the Windsor EV will also be available with the Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) rental programme where customers will be able to pay for the battery for every kilometre they use. As a result, they will have to pay ₹3.5 per km. With BaaS, customers can either choose to pay for a minimum of 1500 km every month at ₹3.5 per km, or have no minimum kilometre requirement but at a higher tariff.
The Windsor EV is the brand’s third EV in India, following the ZS EV and the Comet. Speaking of which, both now come with the BaaS programme and you can more details about it here. It is also the first launch of its new product onslaught where it will launch one new model in India every six months.
The electric crossover packs a 38 kWh battery which gives it a claimed range of 332 km (ARAI-certified). It has a single electric motor with 134 bhp and 200 Nm. The Windsor EV is also loaded with a lot of features like a 15.6-inch touchscreen, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a wireless charger, a fixed panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats and more.
The Windsor EV rivals the Tata Nexon.ev (₹12.49 - 16.29 lakh) and Mahindra XUV400 (₹16.74 - 17.69 lakh). With respect to its size, it can also be a competitor to the Tata Curvv.ev (₹17.49 - 21.99 lakh) but the Windsor is much more affordable.
