After Team India’s triumphant victory in Barbados, which saw the cricket team reclaim the T20 World Cup after a 17-year hiatus – a series of celebrations were in order—starting from the Mumbai airport, which had arranged two special gestures for the plane that flew in the world cup champions. One was a water gun salute to the Air India flight, and the second was escorting the flight to the parking bay using its “Follow Me” vehicles, which were one Mahindra Scorpio-N and two MG ZS EVs.

Painted in the official colour code of Yellow and with check marks on the side and rear, all three were inducted into CSMIA’s fleet earlier this year. While we are unsure about the variants, all three do get the same set of modifications, which include walky-talkies fitted on the dashboard, and a couple of high-intensity reflector lights fitted to the roof. The latter is a very important fitment for it helps keep the cars visible at night on dimly lit runaways.
All three cars are used for emergency purposes, but on the occasion of Team India’s arrival – the authorities at Mumbai Airport decided to use them to escort the flight in a very dramatic fashion. With the Mahindra Scorpio-N waving the Indian flag high.
