The lubricant range is available in mineral, semi-synthetic and synthetic oil categories across various grades.

Motul India has officially launched Ipone in India, bringing the French premium motorcycle lubricant brand to one of the world’s fastest-growing two-wheeler markets. But the company is positioning the Ipone as much more than just another engine oil brand. With strong Japanese-inspired branding, manga-style visuals, and a clear focus on young motorcyclists, Ipone is being introduced as a premium lifestyle-led performance brand for riders who care about both machine performance and personal identity. The range consists of fully synthetic, semi-synthetic and even mineral oils.

Speaking at the launch, Nagendra Pai, CEO, Motul India & South Asia noted, "Motul has built its global authority on the science of performance lubricants. Premium and synthetic oils alone account for a quarter of our sales, and that foundation is non-negotiable. As a leading player in the category, we see a strong shift towards younger riders who are passionate about adventure riding, off-roading, and performance-led experiences.

"IPONE launch sits at the intersection of two things we are deeply committed to: bringing the best lubrication technology to market, and premiumization that is meaningful, not cosmetic. To support this, Motul's distribution network, both offline and online, is stronger than it has ever been, giving IPONE the reach to meet these riders wherever they are.”

Following is the pricing for the new lubricant range:

  • Motul Ipone M4 Scoot 10W-30 mineral oil - ₹550

  • Motul Ipone R400 15W-50 semi-synthetic - ₹700

  • Motul Ipone Katana 10W-50 synthetic - ₹1,550

  • Motul Ipone Shogun 10W-40 synthetic - ₹1,550

One of the standout elements of the Ipone lineup is its unique belt-based product structure, inspired by Japanese judo belts. The top-tier “Black Belt” Racing range is led by Shogun, Ipone’s flagship lubricant developed for high-performance motorcycles and aggressive riding conditions. The company says the product has also proven itself in competitive racing environments, including the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. Below that sits the “Blue Belt” Sport range, which includes fully synthetic oils designed for riders who want high engine performance for both road and off-road use.

The “Green Belt” Advanced range focuses on semi-synthetic oils aimed at everyday riders looking for a balance between engine protection, versatility, and value. Meanwhile, the “Yellow Belt” Standard range offers more accessible options for daily riders who still want dependable engine protection.
