Paying homage to the most successful MotoGP rider ever, Giacomo Agostini, this MV Agusta sports cafe racer gets quite an exclusive treatment.
Few motorcycle manufacturers can come close to delivering an exotic experience on two wheels like MV Agusta. And when it comes to celebrating one of its most decorated riders, Giacomo Agostini, MV Agusta decided to do it not just in style, but with a massive statement. Celebrating 8 years of partnership that saw Agostini win 13 world Championships with the famous AGO badge red and silver MV – is the new MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 AGO.
Announced yesterday evening on the eve of Agostini’s 83rd birthday, the MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 AGO will be limited to just 83 units. Each model will be personally signed by the legendary Italian racer, on a numbered plate on the steering head that in itself is made up of 18K gold. For a more personalised and exclusive touch, the ignition key of each bike is encased within a shell milled from billet aluminium and anodized in red. But that’s not just it, it even incorporates a brass coin made out of an original trophy won by Giacomo Agostini, which he himself selected for this purpose.

While the overall silhouette of the Superveloce 1000 AGO is the same as the production bike, MV has used carbon fibre to make the full fairing. Paying direct homage Agostini’s race bike is the #1 livery on each side, matching the yellow accent of the MV race bikes from yesteryears. Additionally, the fuel tank gets a leather strap with a golden plaque that reads “15 Titoli Mondiali” which means “15 World Titles” referring to Agostini’s achievements.
Other exclusive bits include alcantara seats with Agostini’s name etched on it and silver-spoke wheels for that vintage look. Every Superveloce 1000 AGO will also come with a kit that includes a certificate of authenticity, a dedicated motorcycle cover, carbon fibre passenger heel guards, etc as standard.

Aside from the above exclusive bits, all 83 units are mechanically similar to the production-spec Superveloce 1000, though. The bike continues to be powered by the 998 cc, inline-four engine producing 208 bhp at 13,000 rpm, and 116.5 Nm at 11,000 rpm. And if you thought limited-edition bikes will be expensive to maintain, every MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 AGO will come with 5-years of factory warranty — how cool is that?
Lastly, this exclusivity is not coming very cheap, wherein each bike costs 83,000 euros (i.e. approx ₹82.54 lakh). There have been several AGO special MV Agustas in the past before, based on the F3 and F4 platform. While those were equally exquisite as well, however, the latest Superveloce 1000 AGO could very well be the priciest of the lot yet.
