NeoKavach launched India's first wearable airbag vest for motorcyclists, deploying in under 100 milliseconds via tether-based trigger.
NeoKavach, an Indo-French joint venture, has launched the NeoKavach Air Vest, described as India’s first intelligent wearable airbag system for motorcyclists.
The product uses a tether-based mechanical trigger that deploys an airbag in under 100 milliseconds during a crash or fall, covering the upper body including chest, spine, and neck.
The vest operates without batteries or electronic sensors and can be reset after use. It expands to 28 litres for protection and is designed to prevent spinal hyperflexion and organ trauma.
The company states that motorcyclists face over 40 times higher risk than car drivers, with nearly 70 percent of fatalities involving torso, spine, or neck injuries, as per NIMHANS data.
Rajat Bhandari, Managing Director, NeoKavach, said the vest aims to provide protection that activates faster than human reflexes. The product is manufactured in India and meets global safety standards.
Alongside the air vest, NeoKavach introduced two backpacks: the Tech Pack Pro priced at ₹40,800 and the Tech Pack Air at ₹36,000. Both are aimed at riders and include safety features.
All three products are available on the company’s website and through select retailers across India.
