New Bajaj 125 cc Bike In The Works

Bajaj recently confirmed on an earning’s call that it is working on a new 125 cc motorcycle for the Indian market. The upcoming bike is expected to further strengthen the brand’s foothold in the 125 cc segment. It already has the Pulsar 125, NS125, N125, and the world’s first CNG bike, the Freedom 125 NG04. While details about the upcoming 125 cc bike are still under wraps, we expect it might carry forward the design of the ‘Pulsar P150’ and bring back the ‘P’ nomenclature to make way for the P125. However, this is a speculation and we’ll wait for Bajaj to confirm the same.

Mechanically, Bajaj might use the 124.59 cc, single-cylinder engine from the Pulsar N125 where it produces 11.83 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 11 Nm at 6,000 rpm. We really liked the tractability of this mill and it felt very spirited on the Pulsar N125. For more details on the sporty little Pulsar, check out this video: 

What remains to be seen is how Bajaj prices the bike. The Bajaj Pulsar 125 is the least expensive affair at ₹85,178, followed by the Freedom 125 NG04 at ₹95,981, the Pulsar N125 at ₹99,213 while the Pulsar NS125 is the most expensive option here at ₹1,06,739 (all prices, ex-showroom
